NB Trauma Program supports continuing education for healthcare professionals. Education is essential for maintenance and development of the knowledge and skills of all members of the trauma healthcare team.
The NB Trauma Program Education Subcommittee oversees education activity and is responsible for advancing the interests of trauma related education throughout New Brunswick in alignment with the overall objectives of the NB Trauma Program.
Specifically, the NB Trauma Program assumes provincial responsibility for the coordination of ATLS, TNCC, and RTTDC. We also organize regular Trauma Rounds for healthcare professionals from across the province to learn more about emerging topics in trauma care. Our future plans include bringing these learning opportunities under a single umbrella of core and optional educational opportunities –the basis of an accredited educational program for continuing education in trauma for New Brunswick healthcare professionals.
Best Practices in Trauma Care
NB Trauma Program has developed and continues to develop best practices in emergency trauma care based on most current evidenced-based through consensus statements and clinical practice guidelines. These provincial guidelines are created on the basis that our healthcare professionals require rapid easy access to best practice, and are sensitive to the nature of our trauma system. Education for these consensus statements and clinical practice guidelines is delivered by NB Trauma staff.
