Written orders are essential for the provision of safe goal-directed patient care. Remember to provide written transfer orders for ongoing care during transfer to the receiving centre. Please refer to Trauma NB’s Trauma Transfer Checklist to help guide the various steps needed as you prepare to safely transfer trauma patients.

Any member of the healthcare team can initiate a call to the Trauma line. The Trauma Line is intended for use when patients have injuries or mechanisms noted in the Trauma Transfer Guidelines AND who present within 24 hours of injury. For later presentations, physicians are encouraged to consult appropriate specialists directly and arrange transfer as required.
